Pappelina is a company that works with interior design, with all stages from idea to the development of the new product. Our hallmark is quality and function, we believe that simplicity lasts in the long run.
Through the years the company has developed and grown substantionally and our trademark has a strong position on the market.
We are now building a wider range of products for the home, where Pappelina patterns, colours and details are recognized.
In our selection you will find both graphic and simple patterns, also organic and soft shapes in well chosen colours for a modern home.

Centre of gravity in our assortment is the plastic rug.
It was almost forgotten when we renewed it and made it popular.
With knowledge and tradition to stand on we have added new forms, new colours and a new material.
Plastic,  with a traditional weaving technique that was born 1948 and modernized by us in 1999. And you can only find the original in Dalarna, made by Pappelina.

Our rugs have been a success in Sweden, and we are represented in many countries all over the world.

Pappelina stands for simple and functional design of high quality.

Pappelina ABOUT LINA RICKARDSSON, color: .

By mere accident it became plastic rugs.

After a couple of years abroad I returned to Sweden.
I ended up in a weaving loom, which led me on to art and to a weaving school in Gothenburg.
I started to interest me in rough material such as linen, sacking and paper, there of the name Pappelina.
The company Pappelina was founded in 1998 when I received my first volume order for linen rugs. I searched for a weavery and came across Dalaslöjden in Djurås, Dalarna, they produced rugs, but in plastic. Dalaslöjden had a stock of plastic cuts from the Sixties that inspired me enormously, and it was also the start of something new. I wanted to design my first plasticrug and over the years I have created a number of different rugs in various colours and patterns.

The rugs whet my appitate. They increased in popularity quickly and I dared to believe in myself and in my ideas. A couple of years later I also started to produce blankets and oilcloths.
When it comes to my design, I keep it simple, I start with what I like. I want it functional, exciting, beautiful and easy to care for.

My personal journey as a designer and company owner have been immense and joyful, with both ups and downs. The combination as a designer and employer is not always easy, that is why I am happy to delegate some of the business operation to my competent co-workers, that gives me time to focus on the designs. Currently I am moving on with new exciting products in the name of Pappelina,

Warm regards
Lina Rickardsson
